(Principal of Carus Elementary School 2006-2008)

“ECO provides great opportunities for students to have hand-on experiences which help embed key science concepts into students’ everyday thinking. The Scientists In Residence were extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter they were presenting which provided a deep curriculum for all students. ECO worked with our school in developing and coordinating lessons that focused on students meeting science standards established by the state of Oregon. Our students were engaged, on task, learning and enjoying themselves. They talked for days following their ECO lesson, sharing what they had discovered from presentations. The classroom learning became a real life understanding of science and how to make personal applications of what they learned. This is a great program!”

From the Kids:

Dakota- “They let everyone do the stewardship to make our school a better place.”

Cody- “We learned about habitats by going to the habitats.”

Danielle- “I love the stream table model. They use real things, not just plastic, to teach us about ecology.”

Katie- “I wish we did it way more often!”
