Lent Elementary

The Lent Elementary program is supported by funds from Metro’s Nature in Neighborhoods and East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District’s Partners in Conservation programs.

This two-year project involves all of the 4th and 5th grade Lent students. Each student will receive 12 ecology lessons, two habitat restoration field trips to the Springwater Corridor and also the opportunity to work on a schoolyard restoration and enhancement project.

Corbett Grade & Charter School

With generous support from the Corbett School PTA, East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District, and Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant a new Outdoor Classroom and Native Habitat is being created on Corbett school grounds.

Students removed invasive plants, and planted native species. They built trails, and spread mulch. They worked together with their classmates to improve their community. IMG_1014

Outdoor Classrooms serve as learning laboratories for students for years to come. These unique environments provide truly memorable experiences for students to explore and discover local plants, birds, bugs and soil, track weather and seasonal changes,

Lewelling Elementary

The 6th year of ECO Science Enrichment Programs are underway at Lewelling Elementary Environmental Magnet School in Milwaukie. Scientists in Residence will be visiting 9 classrooms in the 2nd through 5th grades.
