ECO’s current Science Enrichment Program follows an instructional model that begins in kindergarten and continues throughout a student’s elementary experience. Schools may choose to incorporate ECO in all grades or they can focus lessons at specific grade levels.  

We choose to focus our Science Enrichment Programs on ecology because it is an accessible science that allows children to learn about their local environment.   All ECO lessons and activities are aligned with Oregon’s educational standards and benchmarks, and provide students the opportunity to study local watersheds, wildlife, geology, and botany.  

Concepts in ECO’s enrichment programs are cumulative and build upon one another as students progress from one grade level to the next.  The following categories highlight the areas of ecology that students explore as they move through ECO’s instructional model.
